How to Make a Simple Paper Star
You can easily make paper stars. The simplest way to make a star is to draw a star on a piece of paper and cut it out. You can then color it or do whatever else you like to it. However, simple ways exist to make three-dimensional paper stars out of paper strips that can be used in many different ways. You can choose any paper strips you like and use the resulting stars as beads if you poke holes in them with needles. These beads can be glazed and put on earrings or necklaces, used as holiday garland or strung together to make beaded door and window curtains. You can even use different widths of paper strips to make different size stars.

1
Choose paper strips. These strips are available at craft stores and come in thousands of colors, designs and sizes. Some even come in variety packs; pick the ones you like best, keeping in mind that very large strips will make very large stars that may not be as sturdy as small stars.

Tie a knot about an inch from the end of a strip. Flatten the knot so it forms a pentagon. Tuck the short, loose end into the knot and begin wrapping the long end of the strip around the knot. Fold it over and flatten it; the strip will naturally follow the shape of the pentagon.

Tuck the end of the long strip into the knot as you did the short strip at the beginning. Gently press on the center of each flat side of the pentagon. The pentagon should begin to puff out. Use your fingernail to push a crease into the center of each side, gently pinching the corners to form the arms of the star. Your paper star is finished.
