How to Download a DVD Decoder

A DVD decoder is a device that allows your computer DVD drive to read and watch DVD movies. This is the sole function of a DVD decoder. It does not rip the software or movie from the disk, nor can it copy the movie and put it on an iPod. However, if you do not have a decoder on your computer, you need to download and install one to get the most out of your DVD drive.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the AVS DVD Player download link (located in "Resources"). This player allows you to view DVDs with your DVD drive.

2. Click the "AVS DVD Player" link on the page and the download will begin quickly.

3. Double-click the downloaded icon (found on your desktop or in a "Downloads" pop-up window). This will launch the installation wizard.

4. Read and accept the license agreement. If you do not accept the agreement, you are not allowed to install the software. Follow the remaining prompts to complete the DVD decoder installation.
