How to Hook Up Direct TV to a DVD Recorder

Connecting Directv to a DVD recorder lets anyone create permanent copies of subscription television programming. The recorder captures programming on a hard drive memory, which can be reviewed and burned to a DVD, if desired, or simply deleted. Add a television to this setup for watching Directv programming as well as DVDs. The DVD recorder serves as a pass-through component for transmitting video and audio from the Directv receiver box to the television using standard RCA audio/video cables.
