How to Siphon a Honda Gas Tank

If the gas tank on your Honda needs to be replaced (or if the fuel pump dies), you'll need to remove the gas tank. To do this, you need to remove the gas in your tank. While some older Hondas had an optional service bolt on the bottom of the gas tank, most Honda vehicles need to have the gasoline siphoned out of the tank.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the tubing on one end of the siphon into the gas tank.

    • 2

Lay the other end of the tubing into the catch pan.

    • 3

Squeeze the pump in the middle of the tubing to create vacuum pressure. This will pull the gasoline out of the fuel tank and into the catch pan.
