How to Restore Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser History

Internet Explorer is one of the most popular Web browsers used to access the Internet. Although it is a good idea to occasionally clean out the browser history, you may accidentally delete a link that you wanted to keep. If you make that mistake, you can perform a system restore. The system restore will reset everything on your computer from a previous point, including the Internet Explorer browser history.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Start" button. In Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7 the "Start" button is a Windows logo.

    • 2

Click "All Programs" followed by "Accessories" and then "System Tools." In System Tools select "System Restore."

    • 3

Wait for the System Restore to load. From the offered restore points, select the point that is closest to the time when you deleted the browser history.

    • 4

Shut down the computer once the system restore has finished. Reboot the computer and everything will revert to the selected restore time, including your browser history.
