How to Hook Up an HDMI Monitor
High definition TVs offer high quality interfaces such as DVI and HDMI, which allow for superior picture quality. Newer PCs often come installed with video cards that have DVI or HDMI out ports, which can allow you to hook the computer up to a monitor or TV that uses HDMI. Hooking a computer up to an HDMI monitor is a simple process, but it requires that you have the proper cords or converters for the ports available on your TV and computer.

1
Set your monitor up close enough to your computer so that your cables can reach from your PC tower to the monitor.
-
2
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port of your video card. If you only have a DVI port on you video card, use a DVI to HDMI cable to connect your PC to the monitor rather than a straight HDMI to HDMI cable. In this case, plug the DVI end of the HDMI to DVI cable into the DVI port on your video card.
