Instructions

    • 1

Clean the exhaust pipes with a mild detergent and warm water. You can use dish detergent or something similar, but do not use an abrasive cleaner like Ajax, as that may damage the chrome finish, which while durable is easily scratched.

    • 2

Dry the chrome with a clean, dry rag.

    • 3

To remove more persistent stains such as bugs and road tar, use a chrome cleaner like De-Solv-It. Spray the cleaner onto whatever you are trying to remove and let it soak in for a few minutes.

    • 4

Scrub the area gently with a soft bristle brush. This can be an automotive detailing brush or even a soft-bristle toothbrush. Repeat until the bugs and road tar are removed.

    • 5

If there are still stains, then use white vinegar or rubbing alcohol on a rag to wipe the stains off.

    • 6

Polish the chrome with a high quality chrome polish after you have cleaned the exhaust pipes.
