How to Knit Gloves Without Fingers
Knit gloves without fingers are also called wristlets, wrist warmers or driving gloves . They keep your wrists and upper hands warm while allowing you to use your fingers freely. A bulky or chunky weight yarn and larger needles around size 10.5 or 11, will make this a quick project to complete. The basic knit glove without fingers is a simple rectangle you sew into a tube cuff, leaving an opening for the thumb. Stitching between the fingers is optional.
Things You'll Need

1
Make a gauge swatch by knitting a 4 inch by 4 inch square with your yarn so you can measure it and count the stitches and rows to see how many stitches and rows you need to make one inch of knitted fabric with this yarn. See Resources if you need to review cast on methods, the knit stitch or binding off.

2
Cast on the number of stitches you need to make ten inches, based on your gauge swatch. Each fingerless glove will measure approximately 10 inches long and 8 inches wide (before sewing) when completed. The gloves are worked lengthwise.

3
Knit each row across until your fabric measures eight inches, then bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
-
4
Sew the long edges of the glove together to form a tube, leaving a one and a half to two-inch opening for the thumb approximately one to two inches from the finges opening. Weave in loose ends on the wrong side of the fabric with the yarn needle.
-
5
Create separate openings for the fingers by sewing the opposite sides of the fingers opening together with one or two stitches placed at equal intervals across the opening. This step is optional.

The fingerless glove will fit a larger range of different hand sizes if you leave the fingers section un-stitched.
