How to Seal Anderson Windows
Anderson Windows is a major manufacturer of window replacements in America. The company has window assemblies for all housing applications, in different configurations and materials. Like all other windows for a home, Anderson windows should be insulated to protect a room from leaks, drafts and outdoor elements. Sealing an Anderson window can be accomplished through the process of caulking. Silicone caulk can provide the window frame with an airtight, water-resistant seal. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Cut open a tube of silicone caulk at the tip using a sharp pair of scissors or a utility knife. Use a nail or stiff wire to puncture the seal, and then load the tube into a caulking gun.
-
2
Wipe any loose dirt or residue from the seams of the Anderson window. The targeted surface should be smooth before the sealant is applied.

-
3
Apply a bead of the silicone caulk into a joint in the window frame. Draw the caulking gun steadily along the length of the seam, maintaining a smooth line of sealant no more than 1/4 inch thick.
-
4
Smooth the caulk with a craft stick or the back of a plastic spoon. Press the sealant firmly into the window joint.
-
5
Repeat the same sealing process for the seams between the window trim and the siding if desired. Allow the caulk to cure overnight.
