How to Convert DS Game Downloads to R4

Instructions

  1. Moving the Games

      Plug your MicroSD card reader into your computer, and insert the MicroSD card.

      Navigate to the MicroSD card on your computer. On a Windows computer, it will be in My Computer, and on a Mac, it will be in the Finder's sidebar.

      Open another window and navigate to your DS game files.

      Drag the game files onto the MicroSD card.

      If you already have the R4's kernel installed, you are finished. Eject the MicroSD card, insert it into the R4 and play some games.

    Installing the R4's Kernel

      If you haven't, you'll need to download the R4's latest kernel and put that on your card. You can find a link to it in the Resources section below.

      Unzip the .zip file you downloaded.

      Drag the contents of the .zip file onto the MicroSD card.

Tips & Warnings

  • Using the R4 with game files of commercially sold games is illegal.

  • The R4 is not compatible with the Nintendo DSi.
