How to Dye Hair to Platinum from Yellow

Going platinum can be a little tough on your hair, especially if you're not accustomed to bleaching and dying. In addition, bleaching dark hair can turn it yellow, but luckily it's easy and not very time consuming to dye it from yellow to platinum.

Things You'll Need

• Hair toner (20 oz.)
• Shampoo
• Brush
• Towel
• Plastic shower cap
• Hair dryer

Instructions

1. Brush your hair thoroughly to make sure there are no knots in it, and part it down the middle.

2. Drape a towel over your shoulders to protect your skin and clothing. Consider wearing older clothes just in case of spills.

3. Apply the liquid hair toner to your hair by starting at the ends and working up to your scalp. Completely saturate your hair with the toner, using more than one bottle for extra long or thick hair.

4. Tuck your hair underneath a plastic shower cap snugly and blow dry for approximately five minutes, using a diffuser to avoid damaging your hair or scalp.

5. Allow the toner to dry and set for about an hour. Rinse your hair, shampoo as normal and enjoy your new platinum color.
