How to Create a Taylor Swift Inspired Soft Cat Eye

Taylor Swift (b, 1989) is an American country pop singer known for her hit song "You Belong with Me." At many of her performances she favors eye makeup that gives her a dark, softened cat-eye appearance. Many of her fans want to imitate this look.

Things You'll Need

• Eye primer
• Black cream eye shadow stick
• Crease brush
• Gray-black eye shadow
• Blending brush
• Flesh toned eye shadow
• Shadow brush
• Shimmery flesh toned eye shadow
• Liner brush
• Highlight powder
• Highlight brush
• Black eye liner
• Black mascara

Instructions

1. Apply eye primer to the eye lids and up toward the brow bone with your finger.

2. Apply a black cream shadow stick to your outer lash line and blend it in toward your crease with a crease brush before winging the color out toward the end of your eyebrow.

3. Use a crease brush to apply gray-black shadow to the outer two-thirds of your eyelid.

4. Use a blending brush to soften any harsh lines made from the shadow. A soft line is a must for any blended look.

5. Apply a flesh-toned eye shadow with a shadow brush on the inner third of the eyelid.

6. Apply a shimmery flesh-toned shadow over the flesh-toned shadow on the inner third of the lid. You can use the same shadow brush for this step.

7. Apply the shimmer flesh-toned shadow to the lower lash line with a liner brush.

8. Highlight the brow bone with a highlight powder. It is important to use a highlight brush for this.

9. Line the upper and lower lash line with a black eyeliner.

10. Apply black mascara to the top lashes only.
