      Purchase an update for the GPS unit. Some units may have upgrades available at a local electronics or retail store whereas others have you download the update to a PC.

      Connect the GPS you need to update to a computer using a USB cable.

      Run the update on your computer. Follow the prompts listed on the installation software to update your GPS unit. If your GPS restarts several times over the course of the update, this is fine.

      Remove the GPS unit from the computer when the update is finished.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not disconnect the GPS during the update, or you may render it useless.
