How to Fix a Hidden Trojan
A trojan horse virus is a computer virus that looks like an innocent file, but in reality hides malicious software beneath its surface. It may carry this malicious software along with it when it is downloaded or installed, or it may download the malicious software some time after you have installed it on your machine. Regardless of how you got a trojan virus on your system, fixing it can be a pain, especially if it's hidden and you don't know how to find it. With some simple instructions and software, however, you can fix this issue in no time.

1
Download and install an antivirus program on your computer. There are many free or free-to-try antivirus programs available online, such as Norton Antivirus or AVG. Run a full system scan on your machine to ensure that it is clean of all infections.

2
Navigate your browser to an online virus scanner, such as one provided by Kaspersky, Trend Micro or ESET. These online scanners are free to use and can offer different scanning abilities than your default antivirus application. Run each of these scanners and remove any viruses that are found.

Start your computer in Safe Mode. Restart your computer, press F8 as it is starting up and select the "Safe Mode" option from the menu screen. You will be taken to a login prompt that will look slightly different than your normal login prompt. Enter your login details.
Safe Mode starts your computer with the minimum necessary drivers and programs needed to boot up the computer, and it is generally easier to remove viruses in Safe Mode than in a normal bootup mode.
