How to Convert Latitude to MGRS
The Military Grid Reference System (MGRS) is the geocoordinate standard that North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) military groups use for locating specific locations on earth. MGRS coordinates consist of between seven and 15 characters, and include a grid zone designator, a 100,000m square identification code and a numerical east/north location. Using online conversion programs, you can convert MGRS coordinates into latitude and longitude, pinpointing a specific location on earth within 1 square meter.
