How to Load a 3M Tape Dispenser
3M makes transparent, plastic and adhesive tape. 3M tape has become a staple in packaging, boxing and shipping. It is easily unrolled and applied to the seams of boxes with the use of a handheld tape dispenser. Despite the convenience, loading a tape dispenser can be somewhat tricky. Place the dispenser on its side on a firm surface with the wheel facing up.

Pull out a couple inches of tape, and fold it over to create a flap.

Position the center of the tape roll with the end edge of the tape going away from the handle (adhesive side down). Press the roll all the way onto the tape wheel.

Pull out a couple more inches of tape, and thread it between the roller and the sprung guide flap.

Rotate the roller to feed the tape under and through.

Pull the tape flap over the tape cutting teeth, and rip it off.

Begin using the dispenser by pressing the front end onto the end of the seam that is farthest from you. Pull the dispenser toward you to unravel and apply the tape. Keep the front end of the dispenser against the surface of the box.
