How to Evaluate PC Performance
In the real world, when you need a checkup, the doctor gives you a physical to see if you're having any problems with your health. In computers, the equivalent is known as benchmarking your computer. Benchmarking means to analyze the abilities of your computer. It allows you to see the exact statistics of your computer's performance.

Download and install software designed to benchmark your PC. (Click on the link in the Resource section below for a list of software.)

Close any other software you have open on your computer.

Run the software. The software should prompt you to scan your computer. If the benchmarking software doesn't prompt you, run the software manually.

Read the results. You should see information about things such as your processor speed, RAM usage, memory taken and hard disk capacity.
