How to Configure Shaw Email in Outlook Express

Shaw Communications is a Canadian company that offers broadband Internet, cable television and digital telephone services in the provinces of British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Ontario. If you are a Shaw high-speed Internet customer, you can configure Outlook Express to send and receive messages using your Shaw.ca account.

Instructions

      Locate your Shaw email server name using the tool located on the website (see "Shaw Customer Care: Shaw Server Names" under Resources, below). Select the city closest to you from the drop-down menu and your server name will be displayed in the text box. Write down the complete server name.

      Start Outlook Express and click "Tools," then "Accounts."

      Click "Add" then select "Mail" from the options that appear.

      Enter the name you would like to have displayed on your outgoing emails in the box marked "Display Name" and click "Next."

      Enter your complete Shaw email address in the box marked "E-mail Address" and click "Next."

      Select "POP3" from the drop-down menu if it isn't already selected. Enter the email server name that you located earlier in both the incoming and outgoing server boxes. Click "Next."

      Enter your Shaw.ca username in the "Account Name" box. Type your password into the "Password" box. Click "Next" then click "Finish." You can begin using Outlook Express to send and receive messages with your Shaw email account immediately.
