Open up the PowerPoint file in which you wish to place the pictures, then scroll to the slide you want the pictures to appear in.

Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the PowerPoint window, then click on "Picture." A browser window will appear to allow you to navigate to the picture file you want to use.

Search for the picture. Microsoft PowerPoint accepts files such as GIF, JPEG and BMP. Click on the "Open" button or double-click the picture when you find it.

Position the picture the way you want it displayed in the presentation. Remember that you will need to save room for the other picture on the slide.
