Microsoft Outlook manages email, contacts and tasks for both individuals and businesses. All of the data that is used in Outlook is stored in one large file with the file type .pst. While it is possible to import different types of data into Outlook, an Extensible Markup Language (.xml) file is not natively supported. Therefore, it is necessary to convert the .xml file to a type that is supported, such as a .csv file. This conversion can be performed in the spreadsheet application, Microsoft Excel.
