How to Paint With an Airbrush Kit

Learning how to paint using an airbrush kit is a skill that is acquired with a lot of time and practice. Place the appropriate paint tip applicator onto the airbrush for your painting needs. Smaller tips are used for detailing or accented strokes, and wider tips are used for area painting or base coats.

Hook the air compressor up to the airbrush. The compressor or airbrush will have a hose that connects to the air source. Screw it on tightly.

Hold the airbrush and place the paint vessel onto the vessel mount of the airbrush near the tip. There is a small tube protruding from the end of the airbrush that sets inside the paint vessel. Screw the tightening ring securely into place.

Turn the air compressor on and begin with selecting a slow constant air speed and press the airbrush paint release lever on the side of the airbrush with your index finger.

Hold the airbrush about four to six inches away from the surface and adjust your speed to meet your painting requirements. Use smooth even strokes while applying paint for best results.
