How to Make Crepe Paper With Poppy Flower Patterns
Crepe paper is sturdy and flexible, with a stretch that makes it ideal for wrapping gifts. Make your own decorative crepe paper at home by painting poppy flower patterns onto it. Use it as a decorative table cover, gift wrap, or frame it as an art display.

1
Purchase large sheets of flat crepe paper at a gift or craft store. Choose a light color, such as white or cream, so that the poppy design will show up nicely. Lay the crepe paper out on a table or other flat surface.

2
Use a round brush to paint red petals onto the crepe paper. Poppies have round leaves that are layered in a circular pattern around a center, so dab your round brush into red paper and then make overlapping circles in an "O" shape onto the paper. Repeat this every inch or two until you have covered your paper with poppy forms.

3
Use your round brush and black paint to paint the center of the poppies. This is the classic poppy style--a red flower with a black center. Make one black circle in the center of each poppy.
-
4
Use a small paint brush to make tiny yellow dots in the center of each flower. Make three to four dots in each flower center.

5
Add a green stem with a thin paint brush and green paint if you desire; or leave it off to allow more room for the red blooms on your crepe paper. Let the paper dry and it is ready to use.
