How to Clean Viking Oven Glass Door
Viking makes several models of ovens that have glass doors. Glass doors allow you to see the food inside without having to open the doors. Keeping the doors clean is essential to keeping the ovens looking nice and keeping the view inside unobstructed.
While the glass in these doors is durable and made to withstand heat, it can still be scratched if you use the wrong cleaning products. As long as you treat this glass as you would other valuable glass items, cleaning is easy.

Things You'll Need
- Microfiber or terry cloth towels
- Glass cleaner or liquid dish detergent
- Plastic knife (optional)

Allow the oven doors to cool if the oven has been on. Remove dust with a soft cloth--microfiber or terry cloths are best.

Use either a commercial glass cleaner, or make up your own simple, safe cleaning solution. For the latter, fill your kitchen sink a couple of inches full of warm water. Add 1 tbs. of mild dish detergent.

Spray the external oven door glass with glass cleaner, or apply the detergent cleaner with a microfiber/terry cloth dipped in the solution.

Wipe the glass doors with the soft cloth (whether you are using glass cleaner or the detergent). If there are areas of stuck-on food, very gently scrape them off with a plastic knife. If the food is stuck tenaciously, spray with the glass cleaner or apply the detergent solution directly to the spot and wait five to 10 minutes before scrubbing again.

Rinse the Viking glass oven door with clean, warm water if you used detergent. Buff the surface dry with a clean towel, whether you used glass cleaner or detergent. Repeat the same cleaning process on the outside of the glass oven door.

Tips & Warnings
Wipe spills from the glass as soon as they happen, if possible. Spills that are baked on the glass will be much more difficult to remove.
Viking warns against using abrasive powders to clean glass oven doors. These may scratch the glass.
