How to Complete the Warlord of Blood Quest in Diablo
The Warlord of Blood quest is only found in single-player games of Diablo, and will appear in half of all games (alternating with the Lachdanan quest). The Warlord of Blood and other Steel Lords are on Level 13, guarding the stairs down to Level 14. The quest is quite a profitable one; when all the Steel Lords are killed, you will have access to numerous magical items in armor and weapon racks around the stairs, as well as the Warlord of Blood's sword.

Find and read the Steel Tome, located somewhere on Level 13. This will open the room around the staircase and free the Steel Lords.

Kill all of the Steel Lords. The Warlord of Blood himself is one of the most difficult unique monsters to kill, since he is not only very strong but also immune to fire, lightning and magic attacks. Use Stone Curse to keep him still and weaken him, then go in for a melee attack.

Retrieve the Warlord of Blood's sword, a magical weapon that he drops when you kill him. Click on the weapon and armor racks around the stairs to retrieve two magical suits of armor and four magical weapons. (These items are random and may be unique, but most often aren't.)

Tips & Warnings
If you can, cast several Guardians (three-headed dragons that shoot Firebolts). They won't hurt the Warlord of Blood himself, since he's immune to fire damage, but they'll help weaken the rest of the Steel Lords for you.
If you have a scroll or staff of Apocalypse (or have learned it from a book in Diablo: Hellfire), now is the perfect time to cast it. It's not fire damage, so it works on triple immune monsters like the Warlord of Blood--and a few hits can decimate everything else on the screen, too.
Have several Town Portal scrolls ready, since you'll need more than one trip to sell or stash your rewards.
