Wrap the jar in newspaper. Fold the extra pieces over the top and inside the jar. Set the jar onto bubble wrap and roll the wrap around the jar and fold over the edges. Tape the remaining bubble wrap over the edges and within the jar for extra protection. Wrap the jar lids in a layer of bubble wrap, but it is not necessary to wrap them in newspaper. The newspaper adds cushion and protection for the glass.

Pour packing peanuts into the shipping box about halfway. Set in the desired amount of jars, leaving 1" space between each jar, and a 2 inch space from the jars to the box itself. Set in the lids on the outer edge of the jars. Cover the contents with more packing peanuts and close the box, taping the lid shut.

Tips & Warnings
Jars that are thinner than 1/8 inch should be double wrapped in bubble wrap. The thin glass can shatter easily within the box, should it ever be hit upon a hard surface or dropped by accident.
postal service shipping boxes are best suited for shipping glass, since they are strong and can withstand dents and damage more than a typical cardboard box.
