How to Make a Hat From a Beer Box
If you enjoy your alcohol and are looking for a cheap solution to a costume party or an easy conversation starter, then arts and crafts involving beer boxes might be perfect for you. Beer boxes are made of the same type of cardboard as other boxes, but they have the added advantage of advertising your favorite beverage. Making a hat from beer boxes is a quick way to get a laugh at your next party.
Things You'll Need
- Three beer boxes
- Shoelace
- Scissors
- Pen or pencil
- Stapler
- Mathematical compass

Break down three beer boxes by opening the sides and pushing the boxes completely flat. Make the boxes as flat as possible.

Wrap the shoelace around the largest part of your head. Use you finger to mark where the string overlaps so that you have a mark for your head size.

Lay the sized string circle on one of the cardboard boxes. Trace the outer edge of the circle onto the box with a pen or pencil. Cut out this circle to serve as the top of your hat.

Trace the circle you just cut onto the second beer box. Trace the outer edge, and then remove the top circle. Set up the compass in the center of the new circle, and set its arm out three inches from the edge of the circle. Rotate the compass so that you draw a smaller circle three inches in from the original trace.

Cut out both of the new circles to form the brim of your hat.

Cut 4-inch-long strips from the third beer box; the number of strips will vary depending on how wide you make them. Fold the top of the strip about an inch over the top of the hat and staple into place. Fold the bottom of the strip the same way to the brim of the hat and staple into place.

Continue to attach strips of the hat until you completely connect the top and brim of the hat with box strips. Use as many as you prefer until your hat is complete.
