Drill holes inside each corner of the guide with a ½-inch wood bit. Cut out the counter top with a jigsaw 3/8 inches inside the guideline.

    • 3

Router the counter out to the masking tape guide 5/8 inches deep, depending on your sink's depth.

    • 4

Apply a 1/4-inch bead of silicon caulking all the way around the bottom of the routed counter.

    • 5

Set the sink into place, check for level, and caulk in the gap between the sink and counter.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the measurements that come with your sink's instructions.

  • Flush mount sinks can be very heavy, so ask for assistance when setting any sink.

  • You only get one shot at cutting a counter top. You may need extra cross bracing if you are installing a heavy flush mount kitchen cast iron sink.
