Instructions

    • 1

Cut a sheet of paper in half lengthwise; so if you start with a paper that is 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches, it will now be 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches.

    • 2

Accordion-fold the paper, making folds that are approximately 3 inches wide.

    • 3

Draw a doll shape onto the front of the paper. Make your design simple, so it will be easy to cut out and sturdy once it is finished (think of a stick figure but with thicker lines). Extend the doll's arms out to the edges of the paper, so that you will have uncut sections on each edge. This is how the dolls remain connected.

    • 4

Cut out the doll shape, cutting through all thicknesses of the folded paper. Make sure you do not cut the hands apart. When you finish cutting, stretch out the accordion and see your dolls all in a row.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make several doll chains and tape them together to make a hanging garland.

  • Use paper in different colors for a brighter look.
