Turn off the Rug Doctor machine and unplug it from the wall.

Remove the white water tank from the machine by lifting up the restraining wire and gently pulling the tank outward.

Tip the tank into a large sink to remove remaining water and cleaning solution. Depending upon the amount of debris in the tank you may need to add more water to the tank and slosh it around; tip the tank over again to remove remaining water.

Before placing the tank back onto the Rug Doctor machine, wipe the tank with a dry towel to remove water that may have dripped onto the machine. Press the restraining wire down until you hear a click, which secures the tank in place.
