How to Get Rid of Preloaded Unwanted Software on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop
Many new computers these days come with preloaded software. Sometimes this software is useful; many times it's useless, unwanted or both. If you have purchased a Toshiba Satellite laptop and want to get rid of this preloaded software, it's easy but a bit tedious to do, depending on how many pieces of unwanted software were loaded.

Log in to your Toshiba Satellite laptop. Click on the "Start" button, then "Control Panel."

Double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" section of the Control Panel and wait for the list of all installed programs to appear. Scan the list from the top and note which programs you want to get rid of.

Click on each program that you want to remove (one at a time) and click the "Change/Remove" button that will appear next to its name. When you press this button, Windows will either automatically remove the program without any further action on your part or it will launch the program's uninstaller utility.

Proceed through the uninstaller utility for each program, if required, until all of the unwanted programs have been uninstalled. Restart your computer to verify that they have been removed.

Tips & Warnings
While this article has been written with Windows XP in mind, you can follow the same general process for Windows Vista or Windows 7 as well.
If you want to re-install a program that you previously uninstalled, you can most likely do so by downloading it from Toshiba's website or by loading it from one of the CDs that was included with your laptop computer.
If your computer has an enormous amount of unwanted software installed on it, you may want to consider simply reinstalling the operating system from scratch. In some cases it can be faster to reinstall the operating system and all necessary drivers than it will be to uninstall all of the preloaded software on the computer. Keep in mind, though, that if you do this from the CD that was included with your computer, you will likely end up with the same software again since it is usually included with the operating system installation discs.
