How to Get Grease Out of Kitchen Carpet
Kitchens are a haven for grease and grime. Grease is hard to remove from most surfaces and seems to attach itself quickly. To remove grease from hard surfaces, you need a cleaner that can cut through the substance and break it up. When grease is present on kitchen carpet, it can soak into the carpet fibers and be near impossible to remove. You don't want to use a chemical that will damage the carpet or make it too wet. Things You'll Need
- White shaving cream - can (foam)
- Rubber gloves
- Bucket
- Cool water
- 2 white cloths
- Box fan
- Vacuum cleaner

Move any furnishings sitting near the grease stand on the kitchen carpet to another location.

Apply a spray of white shaving cream to the grease stain. Cover the entire grease stain. Use foam shaving cream---not gel. Wear rubber gloves to keep your hands from getting wet.

Fill a bucket with ½ gallon of cool water.

Dip a clean white cloth into the bucket of water. Wring out excess water.

Dab the shaving cream into the grease stain with the damp cloth. Do not rub. Just dab the shaving cream into the stain.

Re-dip the clean white cloth into the bucket of water. Rinse out the shaving cream from the cloth. Wring out excess water.

Dab the grease and shaving cream out of the kitchen carpet with the damp cloth. Rinse the cloth in the bucket and continue dabbing the grease stain until it is gone from the carpet.

Press a clean, dry white cloth on to the wet spot on the carpet and absorb excess water. Turn the cloth around to a dry side and continue pressing into the carpet to remove as much water as possible.

Place a box fan in front of the wet spot on the carpet and turn it on to dry the carpet.
