How to Connect Speakers to a Sharp LCD Screen

Sharp has long been a leading producer of televisions and television products. The company currently produces several makes of LCD televisions. For many home viewers the audio may be fine, but you might want to upgrade to louder speakers or possibly surround sound. If this is the case you need either a stereo or surround sound system with receiver to connect the Sharp TV to the extra speakers.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the red and white RCA cables into the "Audio Out" port on the back of the Sharp LCD television. The red and white cables transport the audio signal from the television to any outside source, such as a stereo system or surround sound receiver.

    • 2

Connect the other end of the RCA cables into either the stereo system or surround sound receiver. Plug the cables into the "Audio In" ports on the back of the equipment.

    • 3

Power on both the Sharp LCD television screen and the stereo or surround sound system. You do not need to do any additional work with the television.

    • 4

Press the "Aux" button if using a stereo system. This tells the stereo to play content running to it through your RCA cables. However, a surround sound system can have multiple devices connected to it at once, in which case you need to take note of the "Audio In" port number next to where you connect the RCA cables (it may also be listed as "TV" or "DVD"). Press either the number or display item button on the receiver. It will now play the audio signal from your television over the speaker system.
