How to Write on Metal Nursery Tags
Organize your garden with the same facility as your office desk with metal nursery tags. "In the spring we look forward to hearing the soft chiming of our plant markers telling us our gardens are waking up and will be giving us another summer filled with beautiful colors and wonderful fragrances," write the plant marker designers Ken and Sue of Plant Markers by K&S. Keep track of plant varieties and locations by recording their names on and marking locations with durable metal nursery tags. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Select a nursery tag with a smooth metal surface. You can find metal nursery tags online from a variety of vendors. You want to choose a tag that has a wide enough space for writing. It can have ornate borders, but make sure the writing space is adequate.

2
Clean the surface of the tag with a damp rag. Set aside and allow to dry. The surface of the tag should be as clean as possible to allow the pen's ink to set.

Write the name of a plant or flower on the tag using an all-weather permanent marker or a paint pen. Choose a pen that is permanent and can withstand outside elements--such as rain and ice. You can purchase paint markers at craft supply stores.
