How to Create Album Titles on iPod

When you download music from the iTunes Store, the artist, song and album information is automatically saved to your iTunes library and transferred to your iPod when you add music to it. iTunes will also import that information from CDs you add to iTunes from your personal collection. But if the music is part of a mix CD, or the track comes from a source other than iTunes, the track information may not transfer over. But fret not. By accessing the song information through iTunes, you can easily add the missing information.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your iPod to your computer using the supplied USB cable. iTunes should open automatically when your iPod is detected. If it doesn't open on its own, open it just as you would any other program.

    • 2

Locate your iPod in the device list, which is located on the left side of the iTunes interface, below your iTunes library.

    • 3

Highlight the track you want to add an album title to by clicking on it.

    • 4

Click on "File" in the main iTunes menu, located at the top of the screen.

    • 5

Scroll down to "Get Info" and click on it.

    • 6

Click on the "Info" tab in the main window of iTunes.

    • 7

Click on the "Album" line in the information box and type in the name of the album.

    • 8

Click on "OK" in the bottom right corner of the window to save the changes. This will allow you to view and play songs on the album from the albums option under music in your iPod.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also change the artist name, song title and track number by following this process.

  • Creating album titles in your iPod does not change them in your iTunes library. To make the changes in your iTunes library, select your "Library" rather than your iPod from the device list and make the changes there.
