How to Wrap a Spiral Perm
Wrapping hair for a spiral perm is fundamentally different from wrapping hair for a regular perm because you are attempting to achieve two different things. A regular perm is intended more to add body and wave to hair, while a spiral perm is more for forming actual curls. Be advised that a professional hair stylist will have the skill and expertise necessary to ensure the best results with the least amount of damage to hair. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Use the comb to part and section the hair into nine sections---3 in the front, 3 at the crown, and 3 in the back. Loop and clip the hair to keep it out of the way.
-
2
Starting in the center back section, separate a 1-inch section of hair, and clip the rest of the hair out of the way.
-
-
3
Fold a wrapping paper over the ends of the lock of hair, and wrap the hair around a spiral perm rod beginning about 1/2 inch to 1 inch from the plug end and working your way up the rod until you reach the scalp. Plug the perm rod closed.
-
4
Continue this process with 1-inch sections of hair, working from the bottom center section to the top center section before moving to the sides.
-
5
Unplug the rod, and gently unroll the hair from the perm rod once the perming and neutralizing process is finished. Avoid pulling the hair.
