1
Begin with a round ottoman with the cushion attached and legs removed.
-
2
Measure the ottoman. Measure of the circumference of the ottoman and measure the sides from top to bottom. Add an additional 2 and a half to 3 inches to the measurements.
-
-
3
Cut fabric and batting according to the measurements.
-
4
Place batting on a flat surface. Center the ottoman (upside down) in the middle of the batting. Slightly stretch the batting over the sides of the top and sides of the cushion and staple the edge of the batting onto the bottom of the ottoman. Batting can tear easily, so be extra gentle if you are using a thinner type of batting. Turn the ottoman and staple the batting again directly across from the first staple. Turn again and staple the batting in the center of the first two staple. Turn the ottoman again and place a fourth staple directly across from the third. Remember to keep the batting smooth as possible. Continue to staple down the remaining areas of the batting in this manner.

5
Place cut upholstery fabric onto a flat surface, wrong side up. Center the ottoman in the middle of fabric. Repeat the same stapling technique as required to staple down the batting. Pull the fabric taut to staple, but do not overstretch the fabric. Remember to take care to keep a clean edge and avoid bunching the material. Finish stapling on the fabric.

6
Roll out a sheet of black cambric cloth and place covered ottoman onto the material. Trace the shape of the ottoman onto the material using a piece of chalk. Cut out the shape. Neatly fold under the loose edges of the cambric cloth and staple to the bottom of the ottoman.
-
7
Find the holes for the leg attachments (if applicable) and poke small guide holes in the material. Reattach the legs and stand the ottoman upright. Place your new ottoman in your room and enjoy.
