How to Convert a T-Mobile Phone to AT&T
Cellular phones rely on a cell phone network in order to place calls, connect to the Internet, and send and receive text messages. Cell phones that rely on a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card network such as T-Mobile can be transferred to any other network, such as AT&T. However, you will not be able to use your cell phone on AT&T until the phone is unlocked and properly configured for use on AT&T's cell phone network.

1
Contact T-Mobile and ask the customer service representative to unlock your cell phone for you. As a T-Mobile phone is locked so that it can only be used on T-Mobile's network, you will need to unlock the cell phone before you use it with AT&T. T-Mobile has a policy that allows you to have your cell phone unlocked after you have had an account with T-Mobile for 90 days. If you are not eligible, you will need to use an online phone unlocking service to unlock your cell phone.

2
Open the battery case and remove the T-Mobile SIM card from the SIM card slot on the phone. Replace it with the AT&T SIM card that you receive when you start a cell phone plan with AT&T.

3
Return the battery to the phone and close the cover. Turn on the phone and allow it to boot up.

4
Make sure that the main screen of your phone says "AT&T" on it where it used to say "T-Mobile."

Tips & Warnings
Some services may not work with AT&T, as they were configured to work with T-Mobile. You should still be able to send text messages and make calls, however.
