How to Determine Military Hat Size
To know the size military hat you need, you will have to measure your head and convert that measurement to find the correct size. Military hats are quite specific in terms of shape, and need to be the right size to fit properly. Ideally, you would be able to try on several hats for the most accurate sizing. If that option is not available to you, follow these simple steps to figure out the correct size. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Take a cloth tape measure and wrap it around your head, about one inch above your eyebrows. Hold your head up so you are looking straight forward and make sure the tape measure is parallel to the ground all the way around your head. It is best to have someone help you with this step, so they can be sure the tape measure is hitting the right spots on your head.

Note the measurement in inches. For women, the number of inches will be the same as the hat size. For men, you will either have to do a conversion or find a sizing chart that will do the conversion for you.

For a man's hat size, convert the size in inches by dividing the number of inches by 3.14 and rounding the result up to the nearest eighth of an inch. The result will be the hat size. If hat sizes are labeled small, medium, and large, use the same conversion, then consult a sizing chart (see Resource below) that tells you which category your size fits into.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string to measure your head. Hold the string around your head as you would the tape measure, then measure the string against a ruler or metal tape measure when you finish.
