Football is thrilling to watch and play. One of the joys of football is going to a professional or college stadium and getting into the spirit of the game. With a few easy steps, you can transform your backyard into a makeshift stadium.

- Thick white tubing (4 pieces)

The Field

Cut or buy appropriate-size tubing, which you can buy at a home improvement store. To replicate an official upright, you will need two 13-yard posts. But you can alter the dimensions to suit your field size.

Place upright stands in the ground. To get the posts in securely, dig a deep hole (roughly half the height of the posts) with a digging bar. All the digging equipment can be found at fence utility retailers. Hammer the goal posts in with a manual post driver. Secure with loose gravel and the unearthed soil. Tie rope around the two posts to make the crossbar.

Spray paint yard lines on the ground. If the space requires you to make a field shorter than the regulation 100 yards, plan out your field's spacing. Evenly space your yard markers. To conserve spray paint, only mark off every 5 or 10 yards of the field. Spray paint your goal lines and any end zone decorations you desire.
The Stadium

Set up bleachers or seats around the field. You can find bleachers at online retailers such as Global Industrial.

Pick an "entrance" for your stadium and set up the ticket table by the entrance.

Designate a concession area. Set up a table by the concession area and stock it with snacks.

Find a group of players and invite fans to the inaugural game. If you have any willing participants, consider cheerleaders or a mascot to give your stadium an authentic feel.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't have a backyard but have a big room in your house, you can adapt the above instructions for an indoor setting. Obviously, you will not be able to spray paint a field or construct uprights but you can still have a ticket stand, concession booth, and sideline seating.
If you are a kid, ask your parents for permission before you transform your backyard. In addition, get parental supervision for spray painting and upright construction.
