Wear the plastic gloves and use paper towels to remove as much of the debris as possible from the carpeting. Immediately place the soiled paper towels into the trash bag when you are finished with them. After removing the debris, push several sheets of paper towels into the stained area to absorb as much of the moisture as possible. Discard these paper towels immediately.

Pour the hydrogen peroxide over the stained area to saturate the area completely. Allow the hydrogen peroxide to soak into the carpeting for ten minutes.

    • 3

Apply paper towels to the carpeting to soak up the hydrogen peroxide. Discard the paper towels immediately.

    • 4

Saturate more paper towels with plain water and blot at the carpeting to remove the hydrogen peroxide from the carpeting. Discard the paper towels.

    • 5

Blot up as much excess moisture from the carpeting as possible with the paper towels. Discard the paper towels immediately.

    • 6

Allow the carpeting to dry completely. Discard the plastic trash bag and the plastic gloves.

  • Place an absorbent towel towel over the wet carpeting to help absorb excess moisture if the area is not drying quickly.

  • Do not use hydrogen peroxide that is stronger than 3 percent because this stronger formulation may bleach carpeting.
