How to Clean Your Kitchen with Baking Soda

Using natural cleansers in your kitchen cuts down on your family's exposure to chemicals and fumes. Use baking soda, for example, in numerous ways to clean up messes and shine up your kitchen. Have it on hand for baking sessions and to clean up the mess afterward.

Instructions

1. Make a chrome toaster using equal parts creamy peanut butter and baking soda. Polish the toaster with the mixture and wipe away with a clean, wet cloth.

2. Clean a wooden cutting board by sprinkling baking soda all over the board. Liberally spray white vinegar over the baking soda; the mixture will begin to bubble. Let it sit until the bubbles have subsided, then rinse with hot water.

3. Use baking soda as a nonabrasive cleaner for your stainless steel sink. Just sprinkle it into the sink, scrub with a sponge and rinse.

4. Deodorize a garbage disposal by adding baking soda to the drain as you run lukewarm water.

5. Clean the exteriors of appliances with 1/2 cup clear vinegar, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 cup ammonia and 1 gallon of hot water.
