Putting pictures of past holidays in festive frames does double duty as decoration

Do you love photos, pictures of past holidays and special people? Do you wonder how to decorate for Christmas every year? Why not let your photos be your Christmas decorations?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pictures, preferably of past Christmas times and events
  • Frames
  • Holiday good cheer!
  1. Step 1

    The Frames
Every holiday season, there a lot of Christmas themed frames at craft and hobby stores, department stores and more. Or you can make your own frames as a family project. Most come in 6x4 sizes, but there are often ones of larger or smaller sizes available too. Be careful about too many odd-shaped frames or designs that will take away space from the picture you want to put in it - that reindeer head may cover little Johnny's face in the picture you most want to display.

  2. Step 2

    Displaying
You can create a display anywhere in your house that you would like to decorate for Christmas. Key places for photos are of course on a fireplace mantel, bookshelves especially those close to the Christmas tree, and the fridge. Using photos of past holiday moments is a great way to relive them while making new ones this year, and having them double as your Christmas decorations makes it fun and easy to decorate in a unique manner.

  3. Step 3

    Extras
If you are a photographer, amateur or pro, this is a great way to display special holiday work. If you are into scrapbooking, this is a great way to use your skills and tools to show off your hobby.

Tips & Warnings
  • Buy an extra frame to include a picture from this Christmas, maybe one with Santa before Christmas Day. Then it is ready to go for next year's decorating!
  • Buy several of a similar kind to create some unity in specific areas if you like an organized look
  • You can use non-Christmas frames for this idea
  • Find frames at after holiday sales or marked way down right before Christmas for a budget-friendly way to add to your collection of photos
