How to Make Homemade Sugar Free Hot Cocoa
When it's cold and dreary outside, there's no better way to warm your soul than with a cup of hot cocoa. It doesn't have to be loaded with sugar and calories. Making hot chocolate with Splenda (sucralose) instead of sugar is not only delicious and easy, its healthy as well. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 5 cups milk
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup Splenda granules
- 1 tsp of vanilla
- Mini Marshmallows
- Saucepan
- Whisk
- Mugs

Mix the cocoa and Splenda granules together in a measuring cup then add just enough milk to make a thin paste. This will allow the cocoa to better incorporate into the larger portion of milk.

Then, warm the rest of the milk in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Add the cocoa/Splenda mixture into the saucepan. Make sure the milk never boils.

Then, when your cocoa is sufficiently warm, remove it from the heat and then stir in the vanilla. Serve in prewarmed mugs. (Put your mugs into the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds.)

Finally, top the cocoa with whipped cream or serve it with mini-marshmallows, cinnamon sticks or peppermint sticks. This recipe is scrumptious with warm chocolate chip cookies or even brownies.

Tips & Warnings
Make it Mexican hot cocoa. Put a different spin on your old cocoa recipe by adding a pinch of cinnamon and chili powder! This really adds a cosmopolitan panache to your drinking experience!
Crave more moustache-making froth in your cocoa? Simply add two teaspoons of nondairy creamer to each cup and stir gently.
