How to earn your CNA license at a location near you

If you are looking to become a CNA there are a few things that you should know. There are a few different places that you can go to find a place that offers the necessary classes. You should also know what types of things you will have to do in order to earn your license. Do as much research as possible before you decide that this is what you want to do.

1. First, you will need to find the location that you will take the classes and do the field work. There are a few places that you might consider when finding these classes. Colleges and universities will generally offer classes of this nature so if there are any of these institutions in your town, consider looking there. Also, you might check your local hospital. They often have classes and might offer the tests you need for your license. Lastly, if you have a retirement community in your area, you can ask them if they offer the classes and tests to become a CNA. They will often pay you to help them while you take the classes.

2. One important piece of information you should know is that licensing is done by the state so you should register for testing in the state that you plan to work in.

3. The test that you have to pass consists of two parts: a written exam and a practical "hands on" skills test. The written exam is generally taken before the skills test. The exam usually is around 100 multiple choice questions and you are usually given around 2 hours to take the test. This test covers both material covered in class and material that you cover while doing field work. You may be able to find sample CNA exam questions online.

4. The next part of the certification is the practical skills test. This part of the exam is when you have to show that you know what a CNA has to do while actually on the job. You will be observed while performing the skills you learned in your "hands on" training and in the classroom.
