How to Make Chai Tea Mix as an Easy and Frugal Gift in a Jar

- 1 cup dry milk powder
- 1 cup dry (powdered) nondairy creamer
- 1 cup dry (powdered) nondairy, French vanilla creamer
- 2 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened instant tea
- 2 tsp. ground ginger
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 tsp. ground cardamom
- 2 large mixing bowls
- Mixing spoon
- Measuring cup (1-cup size)
- Food processor
- Mason canning jars
- Decorative ribbon
- Plain white labels

Combine the following ingredients in a large mixing bowl: 1 cup dry milk powder, 1 cup dry (powdered) nondairy creamer, 1 cup dry (powdered) nondairy, French vanilla creamer, 2 1/2 cups white sugar, 1 1/2 cups unsweetened instant tea, 2 tsp. ground ginger, 2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1 tsp. ground cloves and 1 tsp. ground cardamom.

Stir your ingredients together with a mixing spoon.

Scoop 1 cup at a time into a food processor with a measuring cup and mix until you have created a fine, powdered substance. Once each cup has been mixed, set it aside in a second, large mixing bowl.

Scoop the fine powdered chai tea mix into individual Mason canning jars until each jar is nearly full. Screw the lid onto each jar to seal it.

Tie a decorative ribbon around the the upper edge of the jar and create a bow.

Write "Chai Tea" and the directions for mixing 1 cup of tea on a plain white label and stick it onto the outside of the jar. Directions are as follows: Add 2 heaping tsp. chai tea mix to a coffee mug full of hot water and stir.
