Niche -
Since you are selling others products you will definitely want to sell niche products. This is products that are all related.. If you are going to be an affiliate sell products that can all fit into one category. Other wise you are every where. If you are everywhere people get overwhelmed and leave your site. Example: Sell golf products. Open affiliate accounts with companies that sell golf products and accessories. If you are not into golf ,that's fine.Find something that you have interest in it could be dogs, hair styles, women or men accessories, computers, electronics, fitness, food & recipes, cell phones, what ever you can think of there is someone who is interested!

Domain - Using a free domain is no problem. Plenty are making money doing it. But you are going to want to keep it short as long links break. Go to http://bit.ly to shorten your link. Join networks that are related to golf. For every social network there is a niche social network. Join as many as you can, add friends on a daily bases, start groups, personalize your profile. Every time people thank you for excepting your friends request tell them that you have great golf products and that they can check it out when they get a chance. You don't have to pressure anyone. People will come to you when they see that you are active in the community and you are not spamming it up! Post free ads, submit to search engines, tell friends, build a email list, write articles about it, make videos about it. There is no one way to market your site online. Do all of them. No, you do not have to pay to be at the top of the search engines. If you do not pay in cash , though, just know that you will pay in time. Either way you will pay because nothing is given to you for free.

Offer something free
"Give and it shall be given unto you" is not just a wise quote! it is the truth. If people find that you are useful they will use you more. Which will give them the opportunity to see your products that are for sell. They will more likely purchase from a place that they visit a lot.

The design of the site needs to be considered. People browse sites quickly if you want them to stay on your page keep it simple! You can use white backgrounds and simple colors as opposed to the ribbon-ish looking wallpaper and dancing graphics. This design can give people the feel that it is amateurish and they will leave your site.Check out ebay to see there design or amazon.
