How to Choose Design for Exterior Kitchen Doors
If you have an exterior kitchen door that goes from your kitchen to your backyard, deck, driveway or other area outside of your home, you must choose exterior kitchen doors that are both functional and practical.
Exterior kitchen doors can be made of many materials just like other exterior doors such as glass, wood, aluminum or steel.

1
Choose an exterior kitchen door style that matches both the decor of your house and of your kitchen. Some materials, such as wood, can be painted to match both an internal color of a kitchen and the external color of the house. Other door styles are more neutral and will look fine with both.

2
Maximize the size of kitchen, especially if your kitchen is small. If you do not have a lot of wall space in your kitchen, you will want to consider a kitchen exterior door that does not take up a lot of wall space.

3
Decide if the exterior door should open in towards the kitchen or out towards the exterior of the house. If your kitchen is small, you will most likely want a door that opens outward so you can place furniture close to the door. If your outdoor area the exterior door opens to is small (for example, a small patio or balcony), you will want the door to open in towards your kitchen to maximize the outdoor area. You may also choose a sliding door, if you do not want a door that swings open into either side.

4
Choose a kitchen door that gives light to the kitchen if your kitchen is dark. If you do not have many or any windows in your kitchen, then the door could be a good source of light. You can choose a glass sliding door, for example, or a door with a glass frame inside.
-
5
Choose a door that protects your kitchen from the elements such as strong winds and harsh weather.
