How to Find the Value of Hummels

My mother adores Hummels. Growing up, they were proudly displayed in our hutch. If you have some Hummels you want to find the value for, there are a few places you can go for information depending on if you're just curious or you have a collection you want to sell for the best price.

Look on the bottom of your Hummel figurine and find the serial number. Many may look the same. So, when finding the value of your Hummel, it's best to always reference by the serial number.

If you're just curious what your Hummel figurine is worth, do an internet search. Look on places like eBay to see what they're selling for. Now, eBay is not going to give you an accurate appraisal for a Hummel. But, it will give you an idea as to what some people are willing to pay for them if you keep tabs until the end of an auction.

If you have a lot of Hummels and are looking to sell the collection, it might be best to go to a professional appraiser. It's not free. But, it may be worth the cost if you do have a lot. There are also lists you can buy online to give you an estimate of your Hummel's value. Just make sure it is up to date and check reviews.

Lastly, many people will reference Carl Luckey's book, "Luckey's Hummel Figurines & Plates: Identification and Value Guide." This is a book you can purchase online with detailed information on the value of Hummels. There are several different editions. So, even though you may find a book a little less expensive online, make sure it is the most recent edition as values change over time.

Tips & Warnings
