How to Easily Make Fried Chicken
Southern-style fried chicken is a tasty option for a picnic or a potluck. Not only is it delicious, it is also easy to make. Next time you need to bring a dish to an event, cook up a batch of fried chicken from your friends and family to enjoy. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 5 pounds of chicken pieces
- 2 beaten eggs
- Vegetable oil
- 2/3 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons of dried whole thyme
- 2 teaspoons of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of Morton's Nature's Seasoning
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt

Combine the salt, flour, paprika, thyme and nature's seasoning in a large plastic bag. Shake well until the mix is blended and set it aside. Combine the lemon juice, eggs and milk in a bowl and stir well.

Remove the skin from the chicken and place two to three pieces in the bag at a time. Shake the bag until the chicken pieces are well coated and then dip them in the egg mix. Return the chicken pieces to the bag and shake again. Keep repeating with the remaining chicken pieces.

Pour the vegetable oil to a depth of about ¾ inch in a large skillet. Fry four or five pieces of the chicken at a time in the hot oil over medium heat on the stove for about 10 to 15 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown, turning the chicken and brown both sides.

Drain the fried chicken pieces on paper towels and serve.
