Clay has a powerful drawing effect. It can detox your body of toxins including heavy metals. Skin is a primary avenue for detoxification. Clay has a negative ionic charge, (which can be measured). All toxins are positively charged. In nature opposites attract. The negative ions in the clay attract the positively charged toxins, drawing them out of your pores like a sponge. You can even do this when you feel like you are coming down with a sickness including food poisoning.

Make sure you have a high quality clay. There are many out on the market to choose from. I like to use Redmond Clay. To start you will need a bucket or tub that is big enough to soak your feet in comfortably. Fill the bucket with very warm water. You want the water to be warm so it will open up your pores. While you are putting in the water add your clay. If you are using Redmond Clay you only need three tablespoons. Otherwise the instructions on your clay container will tell you how much to use. Don't fill the bucket up to high, so that when you put your feet in it will not over flow.

Put a towel down under your water container just in case water splashes out. If the clay is stuck to the bottom that is ok. It will dissolve into the water. You can move your feet on the bottom of the tub to help mix it in the water. Soak your feet for 30 to 45 minutes. Have another towel next to you to dry your feet off when you are done.

The water will be full of toxins so make sure not dump it out on any plants because it will kill them. It is safe to wash down the drain of the bath tub. Wash out the container used. It is nice to rub some good lotion on your feet when you are done.

Tips & Warnings

  • Test your water before putting in your feet to make sure it is not to hot.
